eArt LLC
(eArt) was an idea that came to me in June of
1999 as a fine arts company. It is dedicated to our beloved
family dog Barbershop.
With the nurturing and assistance of attorney Mark Tidman, the
eArt website was launched
in November 1999
and designed by Mischell Holmes. It features the
original artwork of talented and diverse artists.
The first business meeting of
the company was held on August 21, 1999, and in attendance were Elina
Peoples, Denise Palmer, Kristine McAllister and Yusef Thomas. With
the assistance of several key attorneys (Kelly Matthews Gerber, Janis M.
Penman, William F. Conroy, Ralph G. Blasey, Lisa K. Rushton, Robert D.
Lystad, Jim Clark, Steven A. Lotterer, Lee Ellis and Congressman Guy
Vander Jagt), the Company's Operating Agreement and Contract for the
Artists were drawn up and finalized. Lee A. Thomas was the first
artist to sign with eArt in October 1999, and since that time,
numerous artists have contractually signed with the Company.
The "Coming Out" Reception was held April 14,
2000 at the Capitol Hill Club. The community and guests had an
opportunity to meet the Company officers and the artists whose works are
featured on the eArt website. Each artist's work was
displayed. The reception also gave eArt the media exposure it
needed to bring the Company to the attention of the artistic community.
In the years ahead, eArt hopes to become
the premier online art marketplace featuring a talented array of artists
and offering a diverse collection of fine art.
